چکیده

The objective of this study was to evaluate collateral sensitivity and cross-resistance antibiotic-induced resistant Salmonella Typhimurium various antibiotics. S. ATCC 19585 (STWT) exposed ciprofloxacin, gentamicin, kanamycin, tetracycline induce antibiotic resistance, respectively, assigned as STCIP, STGEN, STKAN, STTET. susceptibilities the mutants cefotaxime, chloramphenicol, polymyxin B, streptomycin, tetracycline, tobramycin were determined in absence presence CCCP PAβN. STCIP showed gentamicin (1/2 fold) kanamycin (1/4 fold). STTET also cross-resistant ciprofloxacin (128-fold) sensitive (1/4-fold) (1/8-fold). associated with AcrAB-TolC efflux pump outer membrane porin proteins (OmpC). This provides new insight into phenomenon, which can be used for designing effective treatment regimens control antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

Ciprofloxacin-Resistant Salmonella enterica Serotype Typhimurium, China

We characterized 44 Salmonella enterica serotype Typhimurium isolates from Tongji Hospital outpatients in Wuhan, China, May 2002-October 2005. All 31 ciprofloxacin-resistant isolates were also resistant to > or = 8 other antimicrobial drugs and carried > or = 2 mutations in GyrA and 1 mutation in ParC. Class 1 integrons were identified in 37 isolates.

Emergence of clinical Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium isolates with concurrent resistance to ciprofloxacin, ceftriaxone, and azithromycin.

Salmonella infection is an important public health issue for which the needs of antimicrobial treatment are increasing. A total of 546 human clinical S. enterica serovar Typhimurium isolates were recovered from patients in hospitals in China during the period of 2005 to ∼ 2011. Twenty percent of the isolates exhibited resistance to ciprofloxacin, and 4% were resistant to ceftriaxone. Importantl...

Aminoglycosides affect intracellular Salmonella enterica serovars typhimurium and virchow.

The high antibacterial activity and selectivity of aminoglycosides and their low activity against intracellular bacteria associated with eukaryotic cells make them the antibiotics of choice for the elimination of extracellular bacteria during intracellular studies. Given the evidence that aminoglycosides can penetrate the eukaryotic cell membrane, the goal of this study was to examine the influ...

Cephalosporin and Ciprofloxacin Resistance in Salmonella, Taiwan

We report the prevalence and characteristics of Salmonella strains resistant to ciprofloxacin and extended-spectrum cephalosporins in Taiwan from January to May 2004. All isolates resistant to extended-spectrum cephalosporins carried blaCMY-2, and all ciprofloxacin-resistant Salmonella enterica serotype Choleraesuis isolates were genetically related.

The Role of RamA on the Development of Ciprofloxacin Resistance in Salmonella enterica Serovar Typhimurium

Active efflux pump is a primary fluoroquinolone resistant mechanism of clinical isolates of Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium. RamA is an essential element in producing multidrug resistant (MDR) S. enterica serovar Typhimurium. The aim of the present study was to elucidate the roles of RamA on the development of ciprofloxacin, the first choice for the treatment of salmonellosis, resistanc...
